NEXT FIELDTRIPS

SUNDAY 22nd JUNE. Coal Mine Bay, Whangaparaoa. Leader Hugh Grenfell. Interesting and unusual formations within the Waitemata Group sediments to be seen. Meet at the Fisherman's Rock Reserve carpark at 1.30pm. The Reserve is on the way to Army Bay; c.1.5km on your left after the turnoff to Gulf Harbour (i.e. bear left at the Gulf Harbour roundabout). We will head west around the rocks towards Tindall's Bay. Bring footwear for some intertidal rock walking. If weather inclement ring Hugh (827 8401) at 11am for possible postponement. TRIP GRADE: Moderately easy, some intertidal rocks, at least 4km. Low tide 3.30 PM.
