LATE CHANGE OF SPEAKER
New Zealand should celebrate its remarkable prehistoric past with national fossil emblems – have your say!
Nic Rawlence, University of Otago

Nic recently wrote an article for The Conversation titled New Zealand should celebrate its remarkable prehistoric past with national fossil emblems – have your say!

In this article Nic is proposing a public voting scheme for New Zealand fossils that has the potential to become like the internationally-famous Bird of the Year competition run by Forest and Bird, but with the goal of bringing more attention to the incredible fossil fauna of New Zealand.

Is this a good idea? What needs to be considered? Please join us on Thursday evening to hear Nic speak about this fossil emblem idea, and to have an opportunity to discuss this idea with Nic.
