GSNZ Branch event

Volcanic deposits and their minerals with Tim Saunderson

This will cover geology and photos of pillow lavas at Muriwai (some of the largest in the world). Also some microfossils found in volcanic material and some very rare geothermal sinter fossils.

Much of the talk will be centered around Waitakere volcano. It was the largest stratovolcano in New Zealand and was active about 15 million years ago. Some photos of rocks and crystals from Taranaki will be included as well.

Members and guests are welcome to stay for a cuppa after the event.
