Public viewing original hand-painted copy of William Smith’s 1815 “Delineation of the Strata of England and Wales, with parts of Scotland”, the map that changed the world.

The University of Canterbury holds an original hand-painted copy of William Smith’s 1815 “Delineation of the Strata of England and Wales, with parts of Scotland”, made famous more recently by Simon Winchester’s book “The map that changed the world”.

This iconic map will be out on display during the November conference 9am - 5pm, 23 and 24 November (Monday & Tuesday only), with a welcome opening at 12.30pm on Monday the 23rd

You do NOT need to have registered for the conference to view the map or attend the welcome.
